A tale of two cities

£190.00

Florence does not really consist of two cities as for instance London or Budapest, but there is a distinctive area on the other side of the river Arno called Oltrarno, literally “beyond Arno”. During this walking tour we are going to see not only the main tourist attractions and sights north of Arno, but we will cross the river and explore Oltrarno.

As with a shorter panoramic tour of the historic centre the intention is to acquaint you with the general layout of the historic centre and Oltrarno.  You will learn about the timeline of Florentine history and you will hear stories about the architects, artists, poets, bankers, politicians and rulers who made this city the cradle of the Renaissance. You will also get some useful tips on where and what to eat. This tour  will help you to plan better the rest of your stay in Florence.
